'Air pot' cultivation can be done to get a good yield

Airpot cultivation

Airpot cultivation is done using special types of pots . Pots made of high density polyethylene through German technology are used for this purpose. They are also made from recycled plastic. These pots have three parts. A side wall full of holes, a base at the bottom, and a screw that holds the two together. Full of holes for good ventilation. It helps in growth and yield.

We usually prune the branches of plants to control the growth, to have new branches and to get a good yield. But in 'airpot' cultivation the roots are pruned. We don't need to do this. It is done naturally. The main feature of these pots is that nature itself prunes the roots. As the roots grow sideways and out of the holes, dehydration occurs and they die to form new taproots. This happens because the pan is wet inside and hot outside. The specialty of airpots is that the plant grows with good health and gets more yield due to more fibrous roots.

Vegetables, flowering plants, fruit trees and indoor plants can be grown in it. The plant can be transplanted without a single scratch. They are beautiful and are a decoration for the garden.

Manufacturers claim that such pans will last for more than 20 years. Another important feature is that the pots can be easily separated by unscrewing and the plants can be transplanted into a larger container or into the soil without any damage.

Airpots are available from two to 50 liters. Three, six, 10 and 18 liter pots are suitable for growing vegetables and flowering plants. There are also wide pots for tuberous crops. Fruit plants can be planted in 25, 35 and 50 liter pots. A 10 liter pot costs Rs 90, a 35 liter pot costs Rs 280 and a 50 liter pot costs Rs 330. There is little difference from the price of normal plant pots.

How to plant

The pan should be mounted in such a way that the perforated part of the side wall is exposed. The same standard porting compound should be used in Airpot. 90 percent of the pan should be filled. The important thing is to fill the holes so tightly that the soil reaches them. Since the pot has more holes, it should be watered daily.
